Sauna etiquette

SAUNA ETIQUETTE

BEFORE THE VISIT

To avoid dehydration - drink water before you arrive

Go to the bathroom – Unfortunately, we don't have a toilet

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

  1. Swimwear / something to wear
  2. 2 towels, one to sit on and one to dry yourself with
  3. Bag for wet swimwear/towels
  4. Plenty of water

FOOD & DRINK

As we said, bring water💧

Food probably tastes best outside the sauna

Avoid drinks with a strong color, such as coffee and red wine, as this will leave marks on the wood.

Glass bottles must be avoided. Walking on glass shards barefoot is not for everyone, unless you are a fakir

Alcohol intake must be kept at a responsible level. Good for you and best for other guests.

THE SAUNA

The sauna is fired by 2 x 11kWh heaters. They get very hot, so be careful around these and do not put things on the stoves. That makes a mess, burning and foul-smelling mess.

The only thing that needs to be put on the stove is water/snow and possibly a few drops of essential oil intended for the purpose.

COOLING

The vast majority of normal people need to take a break and cool off. In winter, it's the snow that counts. Before freezing temperatures set in, it will be possible to have an outside shower. For the time being, we recommend not swimming in the pond.

FACILITIES

The sauna is divided into two rooms. One for changing and one which is the sauna room itself. Be generous if there are many of you in the dressing room, the space is cramped.

There are plenty of hooks available, so it should be possible to hang clothes and others things you might bring.

Unfortunately, we do not have showers and toilets

HEALTH AND SAFETY

If you have known heart problems or other health challenges, you should consult a doctor before enjoying the sauna.

If you feel uncomfortable, dizzy or feel unwell, you should quit and exit the sauna.

All use of the sauna is at your own risk

AFTER THE VISIT

After the visit, we will be very happy if you take with you what you brought in.

Leave the sauna in the same condition as you want to find it.

Make sure the glass door is closed (there is a sensor here). Carefully close the front door, lock and put the key back in the box.

Thank you for being considerate and contributing to a safe experience for everyone.

If you took some photos during your stay and would like to share with us on social media, we would greatly appreciate it. 😀
